With my gastric emptying study coming up, I decided to do more research into gastroparesis. My findings were shocking. The low-fiber diet recommendations mentioned aligned heavily with my own food test trials.

This is not the first time that I’ve found what could be a golden path with answers to my problems. All my past discoveries have been discounted, so I’m more cautious going ahead. Anyhow, I’m going to follow a low-fiber diet of <10–15g a day and see where it goes. The biggest change I have to make is cutting out raw vegetables (aka no more salad) and fruits (bye, bye blueberries, apples, and oranges).

Other foods I have to cut: CLIF bars, avocados, kimchi, dark chocolate, nuts

Foods I’m thinking of incorporating more heavily: Naked juice, Gatorade, mashed potatoes, kefir yoghurt

Anyway, it’s been 4 days since I started. Initial tests ended up with on-the-surface regurgitation similar to the type that happens if I trigger too much with hot water. Basically I barf a lot, but fail to clear my blockage and make my throat feel super dry. (Deep regurgitation that feels like burping is what’s needed to clear blockage.)

Odd as it sounds, I take that as a good sign. It means that nothing is super stuck. I also did feel very tired during the trials, but that may be due to shoulder misplacement.

Hi everybody. I like food, Broadway showtunes, Pokemon and LEGOs. Oh, and I also do a bit of programming occasionally.
