After seeing a deal, Dad bought me a new band off AliExpress for my Apple Watch. The silver band is made of metal and has an adjustable clip. Compared to the other metal band, it is narrower and lighter. I didn’t feel there was a need for a new watchband, but I accepted the gift graciously.

I installed it on Friday, not long after it arrived. The way the adjustable clip is set up makes it hard to put on. I think this is due to the adjustable segment of the band going under rather than over the clip. The need to snake the head of the band through a tiny hole also adds to the difficulty. I had trouble at first, but after a few days, I was able to clasp it shut on my own.

The new band is not as loose on my wrist, thus able to be used for running. On Monday morning, I tested it out. I went on a 3.4mi route down Blaney / Prospect / De Anza and burned ~300cal. The watch flopped around somewhat loosely at first, but quickly settled. Nasty as it sounds, the stickiness of my sweat kept the watch in-place.

There were some troubling omens while wearing the band. It came undone several times, including once during the test run. However, it feels solid enough to keep as my main.

PS: gotten more used to clasping the band shut on the left hand. Going back to wearing on the left like normal folk, at least during the daytime.
