Mom’s family dinner announcement on MLK Monday came out of the blue; Chris and his girlfriend Sarah happened to be in the area and available so the stage was set. The dinner DID interrupt Dad and I’s viewing of Barry Lyndon, but I didn’t mind. Besides, we had reached the perfect stopping point (aka the intermission with Schubert Impromptu op.90 #1.)

The dinner started around 6:30 and lasted an hour. On the table were 3 take-out dishes from Taiwan Porridge Kingdom 小劉清粥 and 4 homemade dishes. Halfway through the meal, my mom served us hibiscus tea and chrysanthemum tea in her shiny new Le Creuset cups. All in all, I had a good time, no alcohol required.

That pleasant dinner likely inspired my mom to call for another one this weekend. Chris and Sarah were able to join us for the Sunday of the Rabbit. We convened for lunch at 11:39 and dispersed at 1:05 (Chris and Sarah had a 2pm escape room planned). Happy Lunar New Year!

Hi everybody. I like food, Broadway showtunes, Pokemon and LEGOs. Oh, and I also do a bit of programming occasionally.
