In preparation for his first day of work, my brother Chris converted his bedroom into a cubicle. To be fair, his garage gaming space is rather exposed and there is simply too much going on the entire day (i.e. Tim doing resistance band stretches, Mom grabbing vegetables for lunch, Dad doing the laundry).
A vast majority of the bedroom clean-up took place on Friday. Chris wanted to get rid of all the tiny trinkets laying around, lest they pollute his background view during work meetings. As a result, lots of old items started piling up in the hallway. Some of these items were snatched up (i.e. a jigsaw puzzle depicting downtown Paris by my mom), but most of them will be donated.
Speaking of which, I was hoping that he would reclaim his old office chair and free up valuable living room space, but it looks like that won’t be the case; due to his tiled floor mat (for floor stretches / yoga), a chair with four solid legs was the preferable option.
As for the tech gadgets provided, his new company has been fairly generous. He received not one, but two 27” curved Gigabyte G27QC gaming monitors as well as a 13” MacBook Pro. My dad offered to buy him a standing desk similar to mine, but Chris didn’t really seem to bite at the notion.
Update: turns out I wasn’t the only one hoping the office chair would go back to its old home. My dad ended up buying a plastic floor covering from Amazon, essentially giving Chris no excuse but to take back his old chair.
