It’s official: bread is bad for Tim. In a way, it is similar to a CLIF bar. Both have high FODMAP ingredients (i.e. wheat, soybeans, sugar, milk), making them less than ideal. But both are truly dangerous because of their propensity to cause lower blockage.
If I do choose to eat bread, I have to make sure it is thin & crispy (or super soft). I also have to be extra careful about eating too much; many breads that are swallowed easily can pile up below. Subway is definitely one that triggers blockages, Trader Joe’s gluten-free white bread could as well.
On a related note, CLIF bars are giving me second thoughts. It is firm enough to help push away the morning blockage + mucus, but not firm enough to get blocked on its own. Eating a single bar for breakfast (and fasting until lunch) could actually be helpful on days I wake up with upper blockage.
