Monday’s 10am COVID vaccine appointment at CVS looked like a mess. Last Friday, my parents told me to call in to make sure the booster we had scheduled was the latest Moderna Omicron. That call took forever to go through; when I finally spoke to a pharmacist, he confirmed that we didn’t have the latest, but could update it in a jiffy.

However, the pharmacist also worryingly claimed that there were only appointments scheduled for Chung-Shin and Chun Mei; “Timothy Kang” was not listed in their system. My dad had confirmation emails for all three of us, so that didn’t seem right, but I called the support number given to be safe. That call hung forever and didn’t go through before their closing time of 5pm PST.

Come Monday morning, we decided to head to the CVS on Moorpark and take our chances. To my relief, my appointment was indeed scheduled. The pharmacist did not properly change our booster request to the latest variant, but that was fine; the nurse on-site made the switch, no questions asked. By 10:30 the Kangs were all vaccinated.

PS: lucky enough to say that I felt very few side effects and was able to go about my week as usual
