Last night, I had really poor sleep. After going to bed early at 9pm, I woke up an hour later. For some reason, I was unnaturally energized so I stayed up and did additional reading to cool off. By the time I went back to bed, it was close to midnight and the October 24/31 issue of TIME magazine was 100% finished.
All that reading was not enough; I still had trouble getting shuteye. Throughout the chilly night, I had to pee many many times. Weirdly enough, when I finally started my day at 8am, I didn’t feel all that tired.
Some might blame the caffeine of the previous day. After all, I did drink a McDonald’s large of Diet Coke. However, the math does not work out. A 12oz can of Diet Coke has 46mg of caffeine, so a 30oz jug would have about 115mg. That’s not much more than a cup of coffee or a can of Red Bull.
Anyway, I blame two things: dry cakes and chest water. Leftovers from the large amount of food I consumed that day got stuck in my throat, raising my BPM when they dried at night. My earlier attempt at removing these leftovers with hot water resulted in high chest water levels; the chest coldness made it even harder to sleep.
