For lunch on Tuesday, I ordered a “Chicken Chop” salad from Starbird Chicken. This fast food consists of: fried chicken, tomatoes, roasted corn, avocado mash, pepitas, crispy tortillas, cotija, cilantro, green onions, chipotle lime dressing.
Since it was my first time trying the place, I stuck with the default options. At $16.67 with tax + a small drink, it was pricy for fast food, but the portions were large. I liked my meal enough to finish almost everything. (For me, that’s a big accomplishment.) I can even say it was the best salad I’ve eaten in a long time.
My biggest complaint about that lunch would be the side beverage. Prickly Pear Limeade had a oddly interesting taste at first. Before long, I realized what was in my mouth was ultra sweetness. It was almost as if one of the workers had mistakenly dropped in too much sugar.
Would I go back? I wouldn’t mind if it was suggested by friends, though next time I’d probably order something smaller (i.e. chicken nuggets). I probably won’t go back on my own; everything on the menu has a conflict or another with my diets.
