I assumed Monday’s EGD upper endoscopy exam was going to be a big deal, since it required three hours and a responsible escort afterwards, even if you took public transit. Turns out it was mostly just wait.

I arrived at 420 Broadway Street Pavilion D, Redwood City at 2:45pm. Check-in was fast and before long, I was lying on a hospital bed with all sorts of random monitors / IVs plugged into me. There was one lady ahead of me, so it wasn’t until 4:48pm that I was finally wheeled into the procedure room.

The exam took 10min. All the anesthetics injected caused me to black out almost immediately; at 5:12pm, I came back to my senses and helped the nurse phone my dad. The doctor on call commented on how everything looked normal upon first glance and how the true results will come in a week.

My dad picked me up at 5:55pm. To our pleasant surprise, traffic from Redwood City was light, even during rush hour. As of today, I can’t say whether I have GERD, but will know soon enough.

Hi everybody. I like food, Broadway showtunes, Pokemon and LEGOs. Oh, and I also do a bit of programming occasionally.
