As I sat through The Cannabis Question (aka last week’s new PBS Nova documentary), I realized that many CBD benefits (reduce stress / anxiety, prevent seizures, benefit heart health) can help with paroxysmal nocturnal dyspnea. After some quick research, I decided to start with 10mg of CBD after breakfast daily. Unfortunately for me, the Papa & Barkley Releaf Tincture bottle from 2019 turned out to be expired, so things got delayed.

A new jar of Halloween themed hemp gummies from Just CBD arrived late on Monday, making Tuesday the big day. Each gummy contains ~21mg of CBD. I assumed that CBD was evenly distributed throughout each candy and started with half. My 64-year-old dad commemorated the occasion by doing the cutting and sharing the other half. Since then things have not really felt that different, but I might as well persist. (Okay, it’s true that I’ve been napping quite a bit more, but that may be due to other factors.)

Speaking of PND troubles, yesterday I saw my primary care physician Dr Frank Shin. As I explained my findings, he expressed disagreement regarding the likely cause. Instead of blaming the heart, he wanted to blame the lungs. Even after sitting through many explanations (i.e. “I have been wearing a CPAP mask and logging good results every night”), Dr Shin remained wholly unconvinced (i.e. “if your heart was really that damaged, then you wouldn’t be able to go running”).

Eventually, the two of us agreed to disagree. Before leaving the office, I had his secretary Ronda fax a referral to Stanford General Cardiology.

PS: finished watching season 1 of The Expanse

Hi everybody. I like food, Broadway showtunes, Pokemon and LEGOs. Oh, and I also do a bit of programming occasionally.
