Just for fun, I stopped by the Go Fish Poke Bar on De Anza to gauge the price difference between GrubHub delivery and dine-in. Their prices for regular / large were $14 / $17. After tax, the large bowl would cost $18.59. For comparison, I paid $27.46 total for a large bowl GrubHub delivery on Thursday.
That’s nearly 50% more, which is insane. The portion sizes were generous, so my Thursday lunch didn’t feel like a total rip off, but any future purchases will definitely be done in store.
Speaking of money-related matters, I’ve found a good way to judge the value of Xbox Game Pass. The standard retail price of most video games nowadays is $60. The typical play time is 20 hours. That amounts to $3 / hour.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate costs $15 / month. In order to match retail, a subscriber would need to spend a minimum of 5 hours a month (aka 75min a week) using the service. That’s reassuring; even for a super casual gamer like me, that should be easy peasy.
