The Kang family plan was to eat Wei’s Fish early on Tuesday to beat the crowd. Last minute, many things seemed to go wrong. Chris had forgotten all about our planned lunch. Dad had a work meeting that suddenly popped up at 11:30am. Tim was worried that eating fish would cause massive lower food blockage.
Somehow, we still made it to De Anza restaurant by 11:28am. Mom offered to grab takeout, but Dad refused. He attended his work meeting in the car and joined us at our table at 11:53am, 8min after the food arrived.
Mom and Dad shared a green Sichuan pepper Sauerkraut fish soup w/basa fish; Chris and I shared an old pot Sauerkraut fish soup w/snakehead fish. Thanks to the unlimited rice bowls, all of us were quite full by the end of the meal. From my gut, I could tell that the Kangs liked Wei’s Fish better than Leichi; in fact, Chris said so out loud.
As for food blockage, I was fine that day. However, I could tell there was build-up; if I go back, I have to be careful.
PS: 1800 locations worldwide. Wow.
