My legs / knees are feeling sore once more. I knew it was more likely than not related to my shoes.

Frighteningly, it’s been only a month-and-a-half since I switched over to my Skechers GoRun sneakers. When I checked on November 20th, Apple Health showed 330mi since October 2nd. Some of those miles might’ve been taken while wearing other (or no) shoes, but I think it’s safe to say I’m within the 300mi to 500mi range recommended for replacement.

The worn bottoms of the Skechers confirmed the need for new shoes despite the short timeframe. After all, I did use them for running. I began looking around for Black Friday deals. On Tuesday the 21st, I dragged my dad to Costco Sunnyvale after lunch.

There, I jumped on the $28 Puma Ladies’ Star Vital Refresh sneaker deal. (There were also Puma Men’s PC Runner sneakers for just $2 more, but all were too big.) After getting home, I took the new Pumas for a 3.25mi run. The next few days I really put them to the test, including 10mi+ on Friday.

The woman’s size 10 (aka EU 41) fits alright, but feels a little tight. The Pumas also are less padded compared to my Skechers GoRuns.

Anyway, I think I will be keeping them. Since they are a pale gray, I will be able to wear the Pumas to Tzu Chi events and retire my Skechers Sports Vigor Serpentines from its volunteer duties. Those I plan on washing up and using on the indoor treadmill when it rains.

Hi everybody. I like food, Broadway showtunes, Pokemon and LEGOs. Oh, and I also do a bit of programming occasionally.
