On Tuesday, I grabbed lunch with Powell at The Counter. The meetup was a birthday celebration of sorts; funny enough, the only people available were the two November babies themselves.
My initial suggestion was to try Sweet Maple (aka the hot new thing in Cupertino), but Powell turned it down. He had gone there with his parents and was disappointed. He best described it as “the food looked really pretty, but tasted bland and was expensive.”
He had plenty of work to get back to at Amazon, so we didn’t dally around for long, but it was a fun lunch.
