DreamWear FFM 2021, Part 2:
First, it’s worth mentioning that the switch may altogether be unnecessary.
After I started sleeping with my bed raised, there were no more early morning breathing issues while wearing the ResMed n30i. This shows that the breathing issues were likely caused by paroxysmal nocturnal dyspnea. (A raised bed head helps lower the possibility of PND.) By the time I came to this realization, my DreamWear was already on its way, so I tried out the switch nonetheless.
More importantly, there are a tons of things that need adjusting after the switch. Frustratingly enough, my old settings for the DreamWear FFM don’t work as well as I remember. As of now, I have yet to find the right strap lengths + CPAP machine settings for the DreamWear FFM. In fact, the ResMed n30i actually still feels more comfortable. (My mom suggests that these masks take a while to get used to.)
All in all, the question of whether or not I should continue ordering the DreamWear FFM remains up in the air. My next Apria (aka health insurance covered) refill is not until January 12th, 2022 so I have plenty of time to decide. In the meantime, I will play around with both CPAP masks and hopefully come to a solid decision.
PS: tried my first switch back to ResMed n30i on Friday after I woke up feeling forgetful and odd. (Apple Watch showing a hourlong nonsleep period around 1am that I don’t recall made things super freaky.)
