12/31/21
Here’s what my schedule looked like on December 27th, 2021 (aka the day we got off work for Christmas):
- 8:00 — Woke up, got out of bed and poured myself a cup of my brother’s kombucha
- 8:10 — Started my physical therapy exercise routine
- 9:00 — Dad woke up, allowing me to microwave my Holder’s Country Inn leftovers (aka my breakfast)
- 9:10 — Got reply from Justin saying that I could get a ride to Patrick’s house in Foster City, but that he was unsure when we would head out.
- 9:40 — Took a neighborhood walk down Danbury / Edgemoor
- 11:00 — Watched the ABC7 Midday Live
- 11:39 — Did a 20min high intensity elliptical workout
- 12:45 — Watched The Expanse s03e09 with my dad
- 1:30 — Still heard no word, so watched The Expanse s03e10
- 2:20 — Filled up a tub with hot water and soaked my feet while listening to “Escaping into the Crossword Puzzle” by Anna Shechtman
- 2:50 — Lay in bed and started listening to Children of Dune
- 3:09 — Got confirmation from Justin saying that we would head out around 4pm
- 3:35 — Started preparing for the trip to Foster City (putting in new contacts, grabbing all my nightly pills, wearing warmer clothing)
- 4:10 — Got picked up by Justin in his Japanese Toyota SUV
- 4:15 — Picked up Tom on the way to Foster City
- 4:52 — Arrived at Patrick’s house and was given a tour by Patrick and Diane
- 5:40 — Went to downtown San Mateo and added ourselves to the waitlist at Taishoken
- 6:00 — Got seated. Ordered a big bowl of the Tokusei Tsukemen. (The noodles were great, but the dipping sauce flavor was a little too strong for me. Next time, I’ll probably stick with ramen.)
- 6:40 — Finished our meal. Began walking around downtown San Mateo, but stopped after it started raining.
- 7:00 — Went back to Patrick’s house and played Super Mario Party while munching on Kirkland Signature European Cookies
- 8:25 — Switched over to playing Jackbox games on the Switch + our smartphones
- 9:30 — Finished the last Jackbox game and began our drive back to the Cupertino area
- 10:00 — Arrived back home
- 10:20 — Climbed into bed, turned off the lights and listened to The Daily podcast “Stories from the Great American Labor Shortage” as I drifted asleep
