Today, I had my return visit with Dr Joy Wang, the oral surgeon. The recovery went smoothly for the most part, so I did not have much to report. I was able to jump off the 600mg ibuprofen pills 3.666 days early. The biggest pain / discomfort I experienced was that chewing on one side for too long made my lower throat muscles sore.
However, the recovery period may be evidence that desipramine does not help with my throat blockage. On the days after the tooth extraction, I ate controlled portions of soft foods. Not once did I binge. I also kept myself from spitting or vomiting, because doing so would slow the healing.
If desipramine really helps process food better, all those tiny portions of food would have gone straight to my stomach. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Due to the lack of regurgitation, a blockage occurred and began building up. By Sunday, it was real bad and I had no choice but to barf it out.
After regurgitating a fair amount, I immediately felt better. My energy returned and I could tell my muscles were recovering faster. Long story short, I suspected my binge eating habits were why desipramine did not prevent the blockages; a week of controlled eating shows that is not the case.
PS: that clinic works fast; my dental implant procedure is scheduled for April 6th, 2023
