My cold wintery hands caused me to go hunting for gloves. I ended up buying ViGrace wool touchscreen gloves and Koimcuiy fingerless cotton gloves off Amazon. In addition to that, I dug up my old REI co-op gloves and got a pair of Nice Win bike gloves from my dad.
Each of the gloves has its own problems. ViGrace is warm. However, the pinky is too long and its touchscreen tips don’t work reliably on my iPhone. The Koimcuiy fits well, but may not provide much warmth. The REI has absolutely no touchscreen support and due to its age, feels a bit loose.
I hate to admit it, but the Nice Win has the least issues. The touchscreen tips work and the fit is sound. However, it is a little stiff. I find it hard to type when wearing those bike gloves. Its wrist velcro straps also make it harder to take on and off.
Due to all those faults, it’s hard to choose a be all, end all solution. I’m thinking about returning the ViGrace since the Nice Win covers most of the same bases. However, its low price (aka ~$10 on Amazon) makes me tempted to just keep it.
PS: the best hand warming solution I’ve found at home is the space heater in the garage. The warm air from that machine keeps the entire hand warm, leaving no parts uncovered.
