Following the recommendations of SS and LT, I gave Overcooked 2 a try via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. The two gals warned that the game can “cause arguments and possibly break relationships”; after playing for a few hours, I can see why.

The way the game is structured has the player repeatedly doing simple tasks while the clock ticks down. In order to succeed while in multiplayer mode, the two players need to cooperate well. Overall, the game is fast-paced, but stressful. As a (mostly) alone gamer who generally prefers calmer content, I’ll probably stick to Infernax for now. However, Overcooked does offer enough in its single-player mode that I could load it up from time to time.

During the same hangout, SS also recommended Stardew Valley. I bought this indie game a couple of years ago, after amigo JW proclaimed it was a good way to relax. SS’s rec acted as a reminder that I never got around to playing it and helped Stardew Valley re-earn a place in my ever-growing to-do list of entertainment.

Hi everybody. I like food, Broadway showtunes, Pokemon and LEGOs. Oh, and I also do a bit of programming occasionally.
