Our weekend laundry was purposely postponed due to the weather. Thanks to the extra time, Dad offered to take me on an afternoon hike around the Stevens Creek reservoir on Sunday.
I was pleasantly surprised and immediately accepted. The rainy morning meant that the trail could be soggy, but I reasoned it should be okay because the paths near the dam should be mostly made of cement / asphalt.
We left the house around 2:14pm. The hike got off to a good start; luckily enough, we discovered a leftover parking ticket in the machine, allowing us to forego the $6 fee. However, things soon went downhill (not literally).
Instead of heading down the Stevens Creek trail, we moseyed on through the Villa Maria Disc Golf area. Soon, we found ourselves at a dead end. Instead of turning back, we decided to take a very muddy uphill short cut.
Eventually, we got back to the main path and finished our hike by going down Coyote Ridge and looping back on Tony Look. I have to say, I was wrong about the asphalt; every trail that we went on was dirt & gravel. Near the end, we got rained on briefly. By the time we got home, we were grimy as hell.
PS: according to my Garmin Fenix 5X (which was started slightly late), I walked 2.8mi / 1h25m37s and burned 389cal
