I have successfully adapted to my Rainbow hemp sandals. On March 6th, I wore them on a walk around Calabazas (aka the same route that bloodied up my feet back in February). On March 12th, I wore them on a longer walk to the supermarket and back. As of today, I haven’t stored away my Chacos yet, but I have been neglecting them. It’s just so much more convenient when you have a pair of shoes you can slip on and off so quickly.
However, for longer walks I will probably stick to wearing shoes. My feet aren’t quite as tough as they used to be so it’s better to play it safe. Honestly I’m amazed that at one point I could easily wear my Rainbows for 20,000+ steps. As for complaints, I wish the Rainbows were a little bit softer (akin to my squeaky Jiajiale flip-flops). It’s also a little disturbing how quickly the heels wear away; already I can see a chip starting to form.
In other news, the AirPods Pro from Aunt Pat have found their place in Tim’s life. Nowadays, I carry them with me by default. However, it’s true that I have been a little lax about using them; my last few phone calls were answered with the speaker on my Apple Watch.
Anyway, I primarily use the AirPods while running on my elliptical; occasionally I wear them on neighborhood jogs. (The fact they feel close to falling out when running outside is what keeps me from wearing them more often.)
I’m nowhere near capable of wearing the AirPods 24/7 like some folks, but I like the AirPods Pro a lot. The noise cancelling works well. Transparency mode feels more realistic compared to my Jabras. (The other day, it was realistic enough that it tricked me into thinking that my iPhone was playing on speaker.) Like the Jabras, the AirPods amplify certain unwanted sounds (i.e. breathing or chewing) but not to the same extent.
