I’ve been back on CPAP for close to two weeks now. The biggest benefit I’ve noticed from wearing a mask at night is that it keeps my throat area moisturized. When I wake up, my mouth is no longer filled with mucus and phlegm. Nothing else (BrPM, deep sleep, heart rate) has changed much.

Between the DreamWear FFM and the AirFit n30i, I settled on the DreamWear. Both are comfortable, but a full-face mask has the advantage of preventing mouth breathing. The DreamWear is also easier on my left shoulder when putting it on and taking it off.

Anyway, the whole experience has convinced me that BrPM is not an issue. The best way to improve my breathing at night (and eliminate the need for walking around) is to raise my bed head.

Unfortunately, that’s not an easy task due to my shoulders. The way forward is to keep improving my shoulders through PT exercises while sleeping with my head raised for as long as possible; once they tire out, either lower the bed + take walks or get up early.

PS: as for why my head needs to be raised, I blame my throat water + food blockage.

Hi everybody. I like food, Broadway showtunes, Pokemon and LEGOs. Oh, and I also do a bit of programming occasionally.
