My dad was nice enough to drop me off at Memorial Park on Saturday for my friend Jonny’s going away party. (Him and his wife Natasha are moving to London on Tuesday, March 8th.)

When I reached the picnic area near the Quinlan Center at 11:52am, I was one of the first guests to arrive. Partly due to the pandemic, I haven’t really kept in touch with Jonny’s social circles and I barely knew anyone present. Nevertheless, I was able to mix and mingle comfortably over the next four and half hours. Besides the friends I knew would be coming (aka Eric L, Chris C), a few old faces popped up unexpectedly (aka Der-Yi L, Emily C).

The event itself was well catered, primarily with sandwiches from Paris Baguette and The Habit Grill. There were also lots of random desserts (i.e. boba red bean mochi, lemon pie, mini fruit bites, banana spring rolls) sitting around. I tried my best to limit my consumption of these tasty goods, but failed. To compensate, I skipped dinner.

At 4:33pm I hitched a ride home with my friend Eric. Props to his longtime girlfriend Kelly for giving up the front seat and sitting in the back with their dog Ginger. To be honest, I heavily considered bussing (or walking) home on my own, but my recent onslaught of daytime mini seizures caused me to take no chances.

Anyway, best of luck to Jonny and Natasha as they travel the world!

Hi everybody. I like food, Broadway showtunes, Pokemon and LEGOs. Oh, and I also do a bit of programming occasionally.
