How I killed most of a Thursday afternoon without work:
- 12:06 — Left the house at the same time Dad started biking to work
- 12:30 — Arrived at Murdoch Park (aka Dad’s old go-to tennis spot) via Bancroft / Countess / Castle Glen
- 13:02 — Began walking down San Tomas Aquino Saratoga Creek trail
- 13:42 — Ordered a tiger boba milk tea at TaoTaoTea Saratoga
- 14:10 — Moseyed on over to Goodwill and Smart & Final and did some eye shopping
- 14:40 — Started my journey home from Westgate West via Prospect / Johnson
- 14:58 — Took a break at Rainbow Park to rest my legs and watch squirrels run around
- 15:29 — Arrived back home, napped while ABC News played in the background
All that walking sure resulted in a lot of steps. When I got home, my Apple Watch showed ~15k steps, 5.86mi. I was sure to take plenty of rest breaks, so my legs weren’t actually that sore by the time I got home.
It sure was nice exploring new areas while basically doing nothing. Once I finished my nap, I was able to enthusiastically jump back on my work MacBook and quickly address all the new issues that had popped up.
PS: my kind deed later that day = putting my Jeopardy watching on hold to play piano background music for my mom’s succulent panoramic video. She had me play both Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata Mvt. 1 and Chopin Nocturne Op.9, №2 before settling on the Moonlight.
