My Levoit Dual 100 humidifier refused to turn on starting Saturday the 26th. A Monday call to Levoit tech support verified it was broken. That night I removed it from my room and repurposed my nightstand as a lap tray for the living room. All in all, I thought that was the end of things.
However, that was not the case. Thursday night, my dad questioned me about using a humidifier in the morning. He had heard my White Noise app and mistakenly thought I had gotten the Levoit up and running again. When I laughed and said the Levoit was broken beyond repair, he disagreed.
Against my objections, he took out his tools, unscrewed the Levoit and snooped around inside for 20min. He didn’t actually make any modifications, but when he re-assembled things, the Levoit magically started working again.
By then, I had gotten used to the change. My bedroom looks a LOT more spacious with the nightstand removed. I also had doubts whether a humidifier was really necessary. I turned down Dad’s offer to move everything back to the way they were and cancelled Mom’s order for the Crane baby humidifier (she bought one for me after seeing it on sale for $11).
As for what caused this turn of events, I suspect it’s because I accidentally left the Levoit running on Level 3 the morning of the 26th. By the time I realized my mistake, everything around the Levoit was damp. Some of that water could’ve seeped into the electronics, causing the temporary break down.
