Around this time last year, a hummingbird decided to make its nest in our backyard, near the glass screen door. This year, another cutie chose to build a nest in the front yard, right outside the master bedroom window.
The view from inside is not perfect and things can still be hard to see at times, but we do have a decent glimpse of the Trochilidae home. Like the one from 2023, 2024’s hummingbird laid two eggs. When we checked on Friday, only one had hatched. With anticipation, we waited and waited for its sibling to be born.
Five days later, the waiting continues. Dad thinks the other egg is a goner and will never hatch; unfortunately, I think he’s right.
