On Thursday, the 90F heat wave prompted me to go to the mall. I rode the VTA 25 to Westfield Valley Fair, where I walked the majority of my steps indoors. To my delight, the bus route to Valley Fair was straightforward. The longest walk needed was 19min from the Moorpark & Monroe stop to the mall.
Strolling around the air-conditioned mall was a nice way to spend the hot afternoon. I stopped by a few stores and chatted up the friendly store reps, but did not buy anything, though I did allow myself a Sharetea boba and a Somi Somi taiyaki ice cream as reward for walking so much.
Anyway, the trip was a success. Most importantly, it demonstrates that Valley Fair is not too hard to reach by bus. If friends ever want to meet, it could be a good spot to choose. Crossing the Sinclair Freeway tunnel + bridge when it’s dark could be scary, but that’s not something I have to worry about for now. (At the time of this post, the daylight savings change is not for another 189 days.)
