On April Fool’s Day, my dad and I had plans to watch Avatar: The Way of Water. When I approached him about a 2:40pm viewing, he laughed me off, claiming that it was too early for a film. Instead, he pointed to the gorgeous weather outside and proposed going for a hike.
Considering how mind-numbingly busy he was, I was pleasantly surprised. (Dad work that day = Applied Materials stuff + household chores like doing laundry / cutting fruit / washing dishes.) By then I already had 10,000 steps, mostly thanks to a trek to Trader Joe’s, but I innocently nodded nonetheless.
The destination we chose was Rancho San Antonio. Since we took the long route and parked on the street, our hike dragged on for close to three hours. Near the end it got kinda rushed. I could tell Dad was guiltily walking faster and faster to get back to work.
Thanks to the extra speed, my legs were actually sore after the hike for once. Apple Fitness on my Apple Watch showed 26948 steps / 997cal at the end of the day. Due to our late arrival home, we ended up having to split our viewing of Avatar over two days, but that’s no biggie.
