I’ve decided to put a hold on CPAP for now. Dad was the one who made the final push (“Tim! Your sleep apnea mask got in the way of helping when you had a bedtime seizure on the 27th!”), but I’d been considering stopping for a while.

The primary objective of dusting off my ResMed AirCurve 10 was to increase my respiration rate at night. As mentioned before, I needed a machine with “backup rate” in order for that to be the case. However, wearing the DreamWear FFM at night did seem to have other benefits, so I kept it up.

Those benefits were primarily the throat being less dry, having less mucus / phlegm in the morning, and being able to sleep nonstop through the night (aka fewer midnight bathroom runs). Anyhow, it’s hard to say whether or not these benefits are 100% CPAP induced. Once my body has recovered from the 3/15 incident, I shall do more testing…scientific method ftw!

PS: one possibility could be waiting until the middle of the night to put on the mask. That way, I could get similar moisturization benefits with half the time.

Hi everybody. I like food, Broadway showtunes, Pokemon and LEGOs. Oh, and I also do a bit of programming occasionally.
