Partly inspired by the month of Ramadan, I decided to try 24h fasting on Sunday, April 3rd. I did not eat anything until sunset, but unlike Muslims, I allowed myself water and tea during the day. Resisting the urge to eat wasn’t actually that difficult, perhaps because I had overeaten on Saturday. I broke the fast at 7:32pm by biting into a big strawberry followed by a plate of California roll sushi and quail eggs.
Anyhow, the fast was a success and has inspired me to start intermittent fasting again. Instead of the daily 16:8, this time I’ll go for the 24h once a week. Hopefully that will help with my digestion and reduce my stomach bloating. For now, Monday will be my designated day of fasting. If I ever need to ramp things up and move to two days a week, I’ll probably fast on Thursday as well.
