My 3/31 visit to the dentist caused a whole lot of discomfort. In order to adjust the lower right crown, Dr Lu had to use a strong numbing fluid. The numbing was supposed to go away after an hour, but it lasted close to five. This hungry caterpillar stupidly tried to eat despite the numbness and ended up accidentally biting his lip.

The broken lip lasted almost a week and made it hard to chew properly on the right side. I ended up swallowing lots of food half-chewed. I also overused my left molars, leaving them sore for days. In addition, the tooth with the adjusted crown felt super chilly and extra sensitive. The coldness was there even when I wasn’t eating and made day to-day tasks like falling asleep a lot harder.

I can’t help but question whether or not the dental visit was worth it. The dentist claimed that the crown was out of place, but it didn’t feel that way. Even with the lip healed, it still was easier to chew before. However, I suppose I have no real options going forward. Going back to the dentist for more fixes would likely make that area even more sensitive. I suppose I have no choice but to brave it out.
