To reimburse me for the $137.87 he owes (aka from the Friday he forgot to take his wallet to Costco), my dad agreed to cover my next few Amazon purchases. The first item I bought with this privilege was a $16.40 Salomon Quicklace system.
My main complaint about my Salomon sneakers is that the shoelaces come undone a lot. My hope was that a no-tie system would not come undone and would make putting on / taking off the shoes easier. Unfortunately, the shape of Salomons made them incompatible with other no-tie systems on the market. I had no choice but to buy their expensive name-brand Quicklace.
The Quicklace arrived on Sunday. Setting it up was tiring and confusing. Threading the shoelaces through the holes was difficult enough that I had to enlist the help of my dad. The instructions were also unclear; several times, we nearly made fatal mistakes. By the time we finished it was late, so I waited until Monday morning for a trial run.
The trial run on Monday went decently. My dad and I might have left the end loops a little too long; their flopping reminded me of untied shoelaces. The laces were also not all that easy to tighten. Anyway, the Quicklaces stayed tight the entire 23min / 2.08mi I was jogging that day (as well as all my subsequent runs / walks), so I’m a satisfied customer.
