I may not be as addicted to caffeine as I imagined.
For the longest time, I assumed my daily cup of kombucha in the morning was the equivalent of a morning tea / coffee. Turns out that is not the case. According to the GTS FAQs: “All of our SYNERGY kombucha offerings are considered naturally decaffeinated — a result of the fermentation. Each flavor contains about 4mg to 8mg of caffeine per 8-ounce serving.”
That means that on most days, I’m essentially caffeine free.
Come to think of it, caffeine is unrelated to my fatigue. There have been days when I drink plenty of tea / coffee, but still feel tired and hazy. I feel that getting my body out of “Position 2” mode is a more important factor to feeling energized + focused. I still haven’t found a definite solution on how to do that, but going forward I’m going to primarily rely on exercise and naps.
Other related thoughts:
- Increased heart rate and excitement from video gaming may help with leaving “Position 2.”
- The head slightly tilted position of the living room couch works better than my bed for afternoon siesta naps. Usually feel much more rested after couch naps.
- My body has gotten stronger when it comes to cardio. Unfortunately it means that my usual 20min runs are not enough. Need to go on longer runs (26? 27? 28?) in order for my exercise to break me out of “Position 2.”
