The weather has been heating up. Thursday evening, the inside of the house was 80F, so I decided to wear less to bed. Instead of two layers, LOMON Sherpa + SANQIANG Fleece, I only wore the SANQIANG.

That turned out to be a reminder of how my body works in a weird way. In the middle of the night, part of my chest began to feel cold. My heart felt like it was beating fast and it was near impossible to fall asleep again. I tested out all sorts of fixes (raising adjustable bed, walking around, drinking water, wearing CPAP, etc.) before coming upon one that worked: covering my chest with my hands.

The coldness was coming from within; putting light pressure on the area caused it to stop. The LOMON and the SANQIANG must layer in a way that adds enough pressure to the region affected. (Other combinations of clothing and hugging pillows produce similar behavior.)

Anyway, this incident gives support that mucus generated by oil leakage is responsible for my sleep troubles / seizures. Looking around online, I found a good Healthline article on ways to treat mucus chest congestion.

One of the suggested remedies is a humidifier. I remember sleeping better with an old Levoit so I went ahead and ordered a new one off Amazon. Another suggestion is to take a steamy sauna, explaining why I feel so much more energized after showers.
