On Thursday 5/26, I started skipping Mucinex during the day.
That day I had a 33min run in the morning. Later, I did indeed barf up a ton of little pieces on my 4pm walk around Rainbow Park. The regurgitation was not as frequent or as intense the following days, but that might be because I had strained my legs and was skipping cardio.
Even without running, I saw some results. I no longer felt as tired and my other body parts starting healing faster. It’s inconclusive whether that’s completely from skipping the Mucinex or from some of the other restrictions I followed: being more strict on foods skipped (i.e. no carbonated water or fruits), eating five smaller meals a day, rinsing + gargling often, spitting out excess mucus.
One thing to note is that I started taking Mucinex at night (aka “Guardian 600mg ER”). Doing so greatly reduced my overall mucus levels and made surviving without daytime pills much easier.
My mucus clogging has been reduced, but until my other injuries (left shoulder, thighs) heal, I will keep up this routine. Being stuck at home all day while unable to type or walk much is a drag; to be safe, I will continue to avoid taking Mucinex at day.
PS: can’t shake the feeling that I’d found this fix before, but there’s no documentation anywhere in my blog or my health notes
