Summertime is here again. The longest day of the year was last last Tuesday, clocking in at 14h44m15s. This year is unusually cold, but things are starting to heat up. For the upcoming week, there are some days with nighttime lows of 64°F. That being said, I’ve started to look into lighter sleepwear.
My first test, the Stewie Griffin pajamas, were way too tight. I switched to the SANQIANG army camouflage pajamas after just one night. Those worked decently, but also felt a little on the tight side.
Next, I tried wearing blue Layer8 running shorts. The loose waist fit of the Layer8 was perfect. Unfortunately, I soon discovered that wearing shorts made me very chilly at night. As of now, I’ve gone back to my DG Hill. Essentially, I’m wearing the same top and bottom as winter (aka when nighttime temps would reach 32°F freezing).
DG Hill is a little thick for summer and the waist fit isn’t as good as the Layer8, but it does its job. If things start becoming uncomfortably warm, I’ll give the SANQIANG army camouflage another try. I might also start experimenting with different tops. (I did try out wearing the SANQIANG top with a t-shirt as a cover, but that turned out to be too tough on my shoulders.)
On a related note, while I’ve been worrying about the heat, Dad has been complaining about the cold. He is adamantly against leaving the living room door open in the evenings. Mom agrees to keep it closed, but thinks he’s sick or crazy (aka a man with a body still weak from COVID). Whom do I agree with? I’d say I side more with Mom. The temperature at sunset averages 60°F; that’s not hot, but not all that cold either.
