Dad felt tired his entire Memorial Day week off. Instead of helping Mom with numerous chores / gardening tasks as promised, he spent most his time playing sudoku. On Friday, after we finished Sopranos s05e05 (“Irregular Around the Margins”) at 6:20pm, he crashed. He spent the rest of Friday and half of Saturday lying in bed. Mom became extra worried after she discovered he had a high fever.
By mid-Saturday, Dad was better. Over the weekend he was able to do laundry like usual and even go for a bike run.
Things started looking up until Monday morning. Dad fished out some old COVID tests (i.e. QuickVue, iHealth, Access Bio) and tested positive on all of them. Admittedly, all those tests were expired; I was given the task of buying new ones to confirm. Sad to say, the $25 new COVID tests from Abbott also showed two stripes (aka yes, you have coronavirus).
The big question is, where did he get infected? It’s hard to answer because he hardly left the house that week. Right now, he blames his Wednesday trip to Harumi Sushi.
Anyway, as of Monday he’s been going about his typical weekday routine (cooking breakfast, playing sudoku, brewing coffee, work meetings, TYT podcasts, Sopranos episodes, washing dishes, etc). The biggest difference is less biking / no grocery shopping. Best of luck to him in his recovery!
