My mom went on a shopping spree on Prime Day and gifted me a UPF50+ proof baseball cap she bought from Gadiemkensd. (The other hat she bought from Under Armour was too small even for herself.)

Upon receiving the gift, I was intrigued by the company name because I couldn’t quite place its origin. The company was on the smaller side, so it was more difficult to find. Once I did, it turned out my guess of Germany was wrong; their company homepage (and its URL) suggests Chinese roots.

I’m not a huge fan of baseball caps because they offer no neck protection. Gadiemkensd is no different. However, I have been using it a fair bit because it is convenient. After putting it on your head, you barely notice it anymore.

Besides the lack of neck protection, my only other (minor) complaint about the Gadiemkensd is that it looks kinda funny. Wearing it makes me look bald; combined with my Fitter’s Niche fanny pack (see blogpost 7/16/23), I look like a gaudy tourist.

Anyhow, for a bloke like me looks are no matter. When my neck feels burnt, I’ll turn to my Goodfellow boonie, but Gadiemkensd will act as my default on most days.

PS: the Prime Day savings were $15 => $12

Hi everybody. I like food, Broadway showtunes, Pokemon and LEGOs. Oh, and I also do a bit of programming occasionally.
