On Tuesday, I finished my work early so I decided to go for a long, well-deserved neighborhood stroll. My first stop was the Walgreens on Bollinger / Blaney. Honestly, I didn’t have much in mind besides shopping around for keto snacks (and maybe treating myself to a cool carbonated beverage on a hot summer’s day).
As I approached the Pacific Rim Park plaza (aka the old home of Tin Tin Market), curiosity lured me into the Canon Music store. After stepping in, I asked about cello strings, but was disappointed to learn that all they had in stock was Red Label. Their selection of cello rosin was also disappointing. Before leaving, I struck up a 30-minute conversation with the friendly shopkeeper named Sherwin.
Inside my originally intended destination, I ran into my brother Chris, who was on his way out. (He had just finished processing photos for his passport renewal at the photobooth.) I didn’t find any keto supplements or snacks worth buying in Walgreens, but I did treat myself to a bag of Jack Link’s Beef Jerky and a bottle of Sprite Zero Sugar.
Next, I moseyed over to Calabazas with my newfound treats and plopped down on a nice park bench in the shade (aka one of the ones next to the playground facing Rainbow Drive). Sitting there while slowly sipping the Sprite was unbelievably relaxing. I stayed there for forty-five minutes before finally heading home. (I would’ve stayed for longer, but I didn’t want to miss NBA Finals Game 6.) All in all, it was a great, stress-free way to spend a Tuesday afternoon.
