Once again, I got dumped because of my CPS seizures. To her credit, this gal lasted longer than the others, setting a record of 42 dates with Tim. Now that I’m on the market again, I wonder if Taiwan dating is really all that it’s hyped up to be. I’ve heard tales of how dating services there are overrun with girls. Young, single males with a decent job + career are snatched up within minutes. (Even faster if they have US citizenship.) Supposedly this is because of the skewed ratio of males to females.
I sincerely hope that these tales are true. At the very least, it would be calming to have a backup option if I ever find myself lonely and single in my 40’s. In the past, I’ve done some research into Bay Area matchmakers, but what I found was sparse.
Then again, traveling to Formosa to find a wife has its own issues. The biggest one that comes to mind is the language barrier. I should have no problem conversing with a Taiwanese woman because my Mandarin Chinese is not too shabby. However, poor English skills will make it hard for the wife to hold a job or get around town on her own in America. Without a secondary source of income, supporting a family in Silicon Valley will be difficult.
Not to mention, there’s probably lots of scandalous characters on the loose. Just the other day on Facebook Dating, I encountered a woman who asked me to help with her website after learning I was a programmer. The URL she provided looked like jumbled text. Sure enough, when I opened it up in an isolated Incognito window, Avast Antivirus reported it as phishing.
Anyway, I’m sticking to Bay Area dating for now. Three days ago, I re-enabled Coffee Meets Bagel, OKCupid, and Facebook Dating. Here’s the best of luck to me in finding a match!
