Professor Fontaine liked my performance enough that he asked for me again. I agreed to go play piano for him on Saturday. The performance went alright. There were certain songs that I fumbled (due to stage anxiety, shoulder problems, and unfamiliarity), but most of them went smoothly. Halfway through the performance, I rediscovered my “Ultimate Pop Rock Fake Book” collection on forScore. Those sheets were super useful in fulfilling Professor Fontaine’s oldies requests.

After the performance, Jason SB took me out to lunch. The restaurant he chose in Mountain View (aka a recommendation from an Indian colleague), Chaat Paradise, was temporarily closed. As an alternative, I suggested the nearby Madras Cafe. That was a lifesaver.

The wait was not short (~20min), but the large number of Indian families present gave proof that Madras Cafe was legit. The meal was Jason’s introduction to south Indian cuisine. We ordered a paper masala dosa and an onion uthappam, with mango lassis on the side. Jason enjoyed the meal very much (especially the paper dosa) and he promised to take his wife there some time.

Hi everybody. I like food, Broadway showtunes, Pokemon and LEGOs. Oh, and I also do a bit of programming occasionally.
