I put rubber insoles (aka the unused Walgreens Sport Gel I bought on 11/29/21) into my Skechers moccasins on 7/23. The primary reason I decided to do this change was because the bottoms of the moccasins felt thin. Walking around in them for long periods of time irritated the balls of my feet.

The rubber insoles definitely help when they are in place. However, they also make the Skechers significantly tighter, similar to my Merrells. The extra tightness irks other parts of my feet, but after some internal debate, I’ve decided to leave the insoles in the shoes.

Plus, the insoles have unexpected benefits. They make walking around without socks very comfortable. They also allow me to use the Skechers as running shoes. It’s true that I already have the Salomons, but being able to run in Skechers is nice; there definitely are days when I’m too lazy to deal with shoelaces (aka last Sunday) or days when I suddenly want to turn my walk into a jog (aka last Wednesday).

PS: Merrells, Skechers, and Rainbows all irritate different parts of the feet; I’ve been switching between them frequently to balance the load.

Hi everybody. I like food, Broadway showtunes, Pokemon and LEGOs. Oh, and I also do a bit of programming occasionally.
