Happy Taiwanese Father’s Day! Here are a few little tidbits from around August 8th, 2021:

Daiso Baskets. Our old recycled waste holder (aka a plastic basket from Daiso) has become cracked, oily, and broken. These baskets are difficult to find, but I honestly don’t know why my parents continue to hold onto what we have. As far as I can tell, cardboard shipping boxes can hold the recycled waste just as well. (We order a ton of stuff off Amazon so there’s no shortage of boxes lying around the house.)

On Saturday night our family caught a break. While shopping at Daiso, my mom came across the same plastic basket. Immediately, she snatched all three off the shelf. Anyhow, I’m glad we can finally start anew. Looking at the grease lines and taped together cracks while taking out the trash was no fun.

Iced Tea Collagen. Tried combining collagen powder with iced tea (aka the to-go drink I ordered from Applebee’s in order to hit the $75 mark) and whole milk. The end result was surprisingly good. It was hard getting the drink to mix completely, but having little clumps of unmixed collagen powder was not all bad. The unmixed clumps floating around acted as mini sugar rushes whenever I came across one.

Copper Fit Mask. To meet the dress code for the Google Orchestra concert, I bought a $5 black reusable face mask (“Copper Fit Never Lost”) from Walgreens. Wearing it made it easier to breathe compared to paper masks, which was a big plus when performing music. However, the left side strap was a lot looser, making the mask unbalanced. At one point it was tilted enough that several people commented on it.

PS: Dad’s new super tall tomato stand has finally been completed

Hi everybody. I like food, Broadway showtunes, Pokemon and LEGOs. Oh, and I also do a bit of programming occasionally.
