A couple of days ago, I tried a 180mg pill of simethicone as a cure for my blocked throat. It is supposed to act within 30min, but I seemed to experience effects right away. The most noticeable was that my stomach stopped bloating and began to wane. Unfortunately, none helped with my blocked throat. In fact, the stomach bloating quickly returned after eating / drinking more.
Later that same week, I took a second pill and came across similar findings. My blocked throat is currently my main concern so simethicone is nay too helpful, but it could be a good fix for a future bloated tummy.
Speaking of “blocked throat,” this is a term I’m borrowing to describe the strange condition I’m suffering. Currently, there is dried leftover food stuck somewhere on the way to my stomach (contrary to the name, not necessarily in the throat). As the day begins, foods + liquids I consume re-water the leftovers. Near the end of the day, they dry out again.
The dried leftovers worsen food blockage when they are in liquid form. When they are in dried-out solid form, they latch onto the side walls and cause a steep increase in heartrate (roughly 85bpm vs 60bpm average) and energy (similar feeling to drinking too much caffeine). Overall, they also tend to make me more tired and more prone to CPS seizures.
PS: blocked throats make it very hard to breathe with the mouth, but (thankfully) nose breathing remains unaffected
