The DreamerCar seat cushion reminded me that what’s good for my neck / back can be bad for my stomach. On their website, they suggest pushing it all the way to the back of your computer chair and strapping it tight. That way, it forces you to sit up straight.

Unfortunately, that DreamerCar position is bad on my stomach. Somehow, the upright position makes the flow of my depressed stomach / intestinal tubes worse. Thanks to that, I have no choice but to sit without back support the entire time I’m at a computer desk. (Note: this also explains why my comfortable couch lying position causes problems.)

I remember coming to the same conclusion back at Apple while frantically searching for a way to improve my work environment; five years later, I still haven’t found a good compromise. Best so far is the kneeling chair, but that’s extra hard on my knees.

PS: I might be able to do the DreamerCar and couch lying positions near the end of the day if my stomach is completely clear
