Recently I tried out two low FODMAP fast food options. At MOD Pizza I ordered a 11” gluten-free crust with olive oil, tomatoes, mozzarella, bacon, grilled chicken and corn on top. At Subway, I ordered a salad bowl with bacon, tuna salad, tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce and no dressing.

Both options were liveable. They didn’t taste as bland as I thought they would. However, I can’t turn to them regularly.

In my case, food doesn’t go down smoothly from the stomach through the intestines. Food that is easy to swallow (i.e. watermelons, chili mangos or beef jerky) can still cause blockage because it has trouble leaving the stomach. I was able to finish both meals without too much trouble, but 2–3 hours after, I experienced a fair amount of regurgitation.

In the case of Subway, I think it was tuna salad’s fault. For MOD, I’m guessing it was the cheese and the chicken. Anyway, it’s probably best for me to stay away from eating out unless really necessary. Boring ol’ potatoes + rice is always still the safest.

Hi everybody. I like food, Broadway showtunes, Pokemon and LEGOs. Oh, and I also do a bit of programming occasionally.
