Suffered through yet another case of dry cake blockage on Thursday. I’m not sure exactly what caused it, but my guess is the dried apple slices I ate after breakfast are the culprit. (Boba is innocent; I was barfing out left and right even before I ordered my 24oz Tpumps green tea at 1:48pm.) The blockage may have also caused the CPS seizure / confusion spell that evening while reading Little Fires Everywhere before bed.
Friday morning, I woke up from a night of poor sleep with my upper chest feeling cold. The previous night, I slept with my bed completely flat; perhaps that worsened things and allowed even more food to flow into the wrong channel. Even though my breakfast was light, I soon found myself regurgitating pieces here and there. My heartrate was also elevated and I spent the day feeling warm.
To expedite my recovery, I followed many tips detailed out previously. As of today (aka five days later), the dry cake is still partially there. However, following those suggestions made things easier to control and live with. Currently I have normal BPM, no flushed cheeks and no trouble swallowing. On Sunday, I was even able to survive a big lunch outing at Tasty Pot De Anza with my friends Velu (+Sindhu) and Tony.
Anyway, the takeaway is that my ways of dealing with dry cakes are fairly effective. It sucks how the pieces seem to linger around if not barfed out, but that’s where sipping hot water comes in handy.
PS: discovered that aiming the regurgitation into a container makes it potentially far less effective
