Installing batteries inside my N3 handheld humidifier seemed to make it work like a charm. The stream of wet air was not as strong, but that was fine. The on/off switch felt more reliable; I did not have to wait for the stream to come out after turning it on.
Unfortunately, things quickly deteriorated back into the way they were before. As of now, the stream of wet air refuses to come out at all. I’ve long since given up on the N3 (the Levoit 150 serves all my needs), but I still sent a message to the seller on Ali Express asking for a fix / replacement / refund. (As of today, no response.)
Funny thing, I came across a similar humidifier at a neighbor’s weekend garage sale. They were wrapping up their sale so they gave me that handheld (“ShenZhen / Shenbaolai”) for free along with a squeeze ball and a fidget spinner desk toy.
That ShenZhen humidifier shoots wet air from the top and holds more water compared to the N3. My initial experiments showed that it indeed works. However, I don’t have much use for it. Even though I have to go to the office each week, I don’t have a desk. Fitting the humidifier into my backpack will be a hassle; plus, using it in a shared visitor room will be awkward.
