Doing the math, it is safe to say that both my shoes can be replaced. Since April 1st, my iPhone has logged an average of 7.3mi / day. To account for indoor steps, I’m rounding that down to 6mi / day.

(6mi / day) x 6 months x (30 days / month) = 1080mi. Splitting evenly between my two pairs results in 540mi, which is still more than the typical suggested limit of 500mi. Now the question is, do my Salomons or my Skechers actually need replacing?

It’s hard to say. When physical therapist Christina saw the bottom of my Skechers, she claimed they were too worn and that I needed a new pair. However, neither shoe has that distinctive overworn feeling yet. The one I’m talking about is where worn heels make my calves (and in turn, the rest of my body) super exhausted from walking; a good example would be back in spring 2022.

Anyway, I’m going to keep my eye out for deals. If I see a good bargain, I’m going to jump on it.
