A bunch of little toys arrived recently. Here’s my thoughts on each of them:
Hiware Reusable Glass Straws. Straws allow me to drink without looking down for too long (aka good for my forward leaning neck). They also encourage me to sip fluid instead of gulping it all down quickly (aka good for preventing lung aspiration).
I chose glass over metal because it would be easier to see if clean. So far, I’m satisfied. As a side note, the new straws did cause me to switch my main cup. Instead of using a stout Starbucks coffee mug, I now drink out of a taller insulated porcelain adorned with flowers on the side.
Comfytemp Electric Heating Pad. My dad liked his heating mat office desk setup so much that he offered to buy one for everyone. Cold feet used to be a big issue for me, but not any more. Like my physical therapist says, sitting up straight really does wonders in improving blood flow and temperature in the extremities. Even so, I still accepted the heating pad; my mom was the only Kang who rejected his offer.
The heating pad is wrapped in a bath towel and placed underneath the computer desk. It works somewhat like an enhanced smart version of the Gorilla Grip memory foam bath mat which I have been using as a footrest.
New Balance Resistance Band. This was purchased online for pick-up in store. Not much to say other than it convinced my dad to take me on a day trip to El Paseo de Saratoga. (Both my parents are very reluctant to leave the house these days; going window shopping with one of them on a Sunday afternoon was a nice change.)
Harry’s Razors for Men. My dad bought several boxes when they were on sale at Costco. I’m typically a Gillette kinda guy, but I decided to open a box simply because they were so abundant. It works alright but the first shave didn’t feel as smooth.
